Who Me?

If you're a parent, have been around parents, have been a child or still are a child - I'm sure you know the "who me?" look. It's unmistakable...the wide innocent eyes and slightly pouty lips - and if it hasn't been used on you there's a very good chance you've used it on some unsuspecting prey. On this particular morning Malachi had eaten his breakfast and I was working on accomplishing the same. As I came into the kitchen to put my dishes in the sink I caught a glimpse of my son working very hard to acquire some last tiny morsels of honey nut goodness. I grabbed the camera and actually succeeded in getting a few pictures taken before he noticed me - hence the following:

"Ooh this is gonna be good..."

"Man I wish my arm was longer"

"Ah that's better"

"Just...a...little......further....."

Uh oh think fast! "Who me? Mom - I would never!"
I love him:) And I definitely can't blame him - those honey nut cheerios are delicious!

My little music man:)

If I ever can't find my son, this is where he'll be:) Now if only he hadn't found the volume control....

Clean is a relative term...

I love my son:) I love his joy, his laughter, his 'dancing,' his surprise attack and his fascination with all things loud. And I love his toys...I really do...in the sense that they entertain him and teach him and help him have fun. But my love for his toys end right about there lol. I have worked really hard to not let my house become one that is overwhelmed with toys and evidence of all things baby, but I'm pretty sure in rabbit fashion they are multiplying everytime I turn my back! And here's my latest challenge: so I thought it would be smart to buy a toy chest/ottoman storage to keep in the living room to conceal his toys and maybe provide some additional seating. So I go online and find what looks to be the perfect solution at Target! So I trek through the snow with Malachi excited to find my saving grace - and what I find at Target is a storage bench with a 5 inch padded lid (not hollow like I thought) that is now no longer big enough for what I need:P Ok, so 2 days later I try Walmart and no luck. I've looked online at Ikea, overstock.com, ebay etc etc etc and I cannot find what I need in the price that I need!!! Oh that have hundreds of options, all either too small, too plastic or too expensive. One day my living room will be reclaimed right? Right??

Frustrations aside another reason I love my son is that he loves to put things away. Show him a box or a trashcan, and he'll put everything in it - whether it fits or not. So if there are toys all over the place at least I have the youngest love of my life helping me out:)

So this is my first attempt at uploading a video to my blog...I am so behind the times. And I'll be even more so if it doesn't work ::sigh:: - why doesn't technology adeptness cross between sisters? Ginger completely gets this stuff!

Some updates on Malachi: He is 14 months old, acting more like a little boy than a toddler:P He is running around like crazy, and loves loves loves basketball. He can say a myriad of words - of course mom, dad, dog, and he says 'ball ball' for basketball. His favorite word right now is 'no' which is far from my favorite - he can say 'yes' although he doesn't choose to very often;) He is a huge fan of chocolate milk (but then again who isn't? Besides my sister...)

Last weekend I got to see my baby boy throw up for the first time:( Not something I'd like to relive anytime soon. We both got the 'Nora Walk' virus? Not sure on the spelling, very sure on the effects. Malachi was vomiting and having diarrhea all weekend, poor thing! But it only lasted 3 days like our dr. said it would, thankfully.

Now I am going to enjoy another snow day with my hubby! Old man winter must want us to spend more time together:)

Ever Have One of Those Days?

So yesterday was one of those days. One of those days that from the moment you get up to the moment you leave for work you just feel off and things just aren't going so smooth. One of those days that once you arrive at work you find out you're not the only one feeling unusually grumpy so those you were counting on to offer a pick me up are down in the same boat you are. One of those days that the longer it goes on the more you can't believe that everything that's happening is really happening ::sigh:: one of those days...

But praise the Lord, 'those days' are still only 24 hrs long. No longer than any other good day although it may not seem that way:) So now to the things I'm thankful for! I'm thankful that today wasn't yesterday;) I'm thankful for my husband working so hard on our house and taking such good care of me. I'm thankful for my mom and her completely unselfish help whenever Ginger and I need it. I'm thankful that my sis was feeling a bit better today. And I'm thankful for my son who cracks me up every 5 minutes and makes me wonder what life could be any better. So I am thankful...

Aaron, Malachi and I are headed to Kansas City tomorrow, we're staying the night and going to the Chiefs game on Sunday! We're not exactly big Chiefs fan but a coworker of Aaron's has season tickets and couldn't make it to this game and graciously offered the tickets to us! And since neither of us have ever been to an NFL game we're looking forward to it:) So yay for a weekend getaway - and another bonus, we're having dinner with my college roomie Mindi Saturday night! I haven't seen her in a few months so I'm really excited:) Hopefully I'll have lots of fun pictures from the weekend to share with you...actually I have a lot of pictures to share with you already considering my 9 month hiatus from blogging...yeah...

I hope everyone has a blessed weekend and that no one has 'one of those days' - but even if you do, praise the Lord:)

Fun Day:)

Today was a fun Monday! I am so blessed...amazing friends and amazing family - I have no right to complain about anything. Krista Hutton is one of my most dear and favorite friends who always makes time for me - and this morning we got to take our boys to Botanica and enjoy the beautiful gardens! Her grandma had given her 2 free passes and she sweetly thought of me to enjoy them with her. I hadn't been to Botanica in years, it really is a beautiful place. God's creation never ceases to amaze me. I was a little worried about Malachi because he still hadn't napped when we met at the gardens at 11am (very rare for him) but true to form he was still sweet and enjoyable:) We had a picnic in the middle of the gardens and enjoyed a less humidity-filled day. My favorite part was playing in the fountain with Malachi - I'd lay him on his stomach on the stone and he would splash his hands in the water as hard as he could and laugh at the cold water hitting him in the face:) (pictures to come). He makes my heart smile:)

After the gardens I went to mom's to see her and ginger and my beautiful niece. Malachi finally fell asleep on the way there so I laid him in the crib once I got to her house - he only slept 30 min! Crazy little man. My mom and sis went to Avery's 4 month check up and I ran some errands until they got back home then we hung out for a little bit. Malachi finally fell asleep on the way home from Grandma's and slept for a good while - and once daddy got home he slept on his chest for awhile longer...one of my favorite sights:) It was a good day, a blessed day. I'm so thankful for my healthy baby boy and my husband who is the love of my life and the most amazing father I could ever dream of. I have a family that is close and shares a love that is rooted in Jesus....I couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you Lord for blessing me so richly, I'm undeserving.

Okay I'm trying to ease myself back into blogging, or really I'm trying to get into the habit of blogging period. I have lots of pictures and videos I need to get on here, but that will have to happen another night. Right now I'm going to go help my hubby give our adorable little boy a bath, and laugh when his splashing is enough for me to consider the kitchen floor mopped:) Good times....

I'm a failed blogger!

I'm so so sorry that it's been (ahem) 9 months since my last post! Completely unintentional...I knew that I wouldn't be the greatest at keeping up with this, but 9 months is just plain ridiculous. So I apologize, and I will try to catch everyone up in a concise manner:)

Malachi is 9 months old now and amazing:) He is seriously the biggest blessing and joy that Aaron and I could ever experience! He is crawling everywhere, and standing up with anything he can hold on to...walking doesn't seem to be too far off - scary! He got his first 2 teeth when he was 4 1/2 months old, and he's got 4 more coming in on top and a 3rd on the bottom. He wants steak.

We got to go on vacation the last 2 wks in July to my parent's cabin in Wisconsin which was glorious! A much needed break, so relaxing and fun. I am still working part time at Mary Kate and Company as a hairdresser and loving it. Aaron is back to school now and getting to just teach Fitness classes this year which is definitely his passion.

Ok this update is getting cut a little short, I'm at work and my next client just got here. More to come I promise! I'll get this figured out one of these days...

God bless you!
