Who Me?

If you're a parent, have been around parents, have been a child or still are a child - I'm sure you know the "who me?" look. It's unmistakable...the wide innocent eyes and slightly pouty lips - and if it hasn't been used on you there's a very good chance you've used it on some unsuspecting prey. On this particular morning Malachi had eaten his breakfast and I was working on accomplishing the same. As I came into the kitchen to put my dishes in the sink I caught a glimpse of my son working very hard to acquire some last tiny morsels of honey nut goodness. I grabbed the camera and actually succeeded in getting a few pictures taken before he noticed me - hence the following:

"Ooh this is gonna be good..."

"Man I wish my arm was longer"

"Ah that's better"

"Just...a...little......further....."

Uh oh think fast! "Who me? Mom - I would never!"
I love him:) And I definitely can't blame him - those honey nut cheerios are delicious!

My little music man:)

If I ever can't find my son, this is where he'll be:) Now if only he hadn't found the volume control....

Clean is a relative term...

I love my son:) I love his joy, his laughter, his 'dancing,' his surprise attack and his fascination with all things loud. And I love his toys...I really do...in the sense that they entertain him and teach him and help him have fun. But my love for his toys end right about there lol. I have worked really hard to not let my house become one that is overwhelmed with toys and evidence of all things baby, but I'm pretty sure in rabbit fashion they are multiplying everytime I turn my back! And here's my latest challenge: so I thought it would be smart to buy a toy chest/ottoman storage to keep in the living room to conceal his toys and maybe provide some additional seating. So I go online and find what looks to be the perfect solution at Target! So I trek through the snow with Malachi excited to find my saving grace - and what I find at Target is a storage bench with a 5 inch padded lid (not hollow like I thought) that is now no longer big enough for what I need:P Ok, so 2 days later I try Walmart and no luck. I've looked online at Ikea, overstock.com, ebay etc etc etc and I cannot find what I need in the price that I need!!! Oh that have hundreds of options, all either too small, too plastic or too expensive. One day my living room will be reclaimed right? Right??

Frustrations aside another reason I love my son is that he loves to put things away. Show him a box or a trashcan, and he'll put everything in it - whether it fits or not. So if there are toys all over the place at least I have the youngest love of my life helping me out:)

So this is my first attempt at uploading a video to my blog...I am so behind the times. And I'll be even more so if it doesn't work ::sigh:: - why doesn't technology adeptness cross between sisters? Ginger completely gets this stuff!

Some updates on Malachi: He is 14 months old, acting more like a little boy than a toddler:P He is running around like crazy, and loves loves loves basketball. He can say a myriad of words - of course mom, dad, dog, and he says 'ball ball' for basketball. His favorite word right now is 'no' which is far from my favorite - he can say 'yes' although he doesn't choose to very often;) He is a huge fan of chocolate milk (but then again who isn't? Besides my sister...)

Last weekend I got to see my baby boy throw up for the first time:( Not something I'd like to relive anytime soon. We both got the 'Nora Walk' virus? Not sure on the spelling, very sure on the effects. Malachi was vomiting and having diarrhea all weekend, poor thing! But it only lasted 3 days like our dr. said it would, thankfully.

Now I am going to enjoy another snow day with my hubby! Old man winter must want us to spend more time together:)
